Swaraj Bhavan Museum, Allahabad, 1989
This Residence of the Nehrus at Allahabad was a witness to the some of the
most significant moments in India freedom struggle.
The concept behind the design was to establish the magnificent building as
an experience in which the building itself becomes at once the object and
the image which encapsulates history. The first multimedia museum in Asia
and the first speaking museum in India, the house narrates history in its
own voice, thus conveying that the space of the building is linked to the
passage of history through time. |
